We’re Open For Essential Business Only & Why…

The UK and many other jurisdictions around the world have closed down retail, and at Romerils we want to also be a responsible, genuinely local Jersey business, ahead of local regulation.

Therefore, we have taken the decision to close down the non-essential aspects of our retail operation in St Helier, and only have products available to the construction and service industry, where we can still play our role in keeping Jersey functioning.

At Our Dumaresq Street Shop:

We have closed down the Home Interiors side of our showroom, but there will still be controlled access to the areas where you can get more trade, maintenance products such as tools, fixings and hardware.

At Our La Collette Trade Centre:

This is purely a plumbers & builders merchant, with controlled access again, to ensure the construction industry can continue to provide the essential service to keep Jersey operating.

Why are we still partially open? While Jersey isn’t yet in lockdown, we are preparing for this to happen as it does seem inevitable. The UK government have confirmed that construction sites should remain open, as should supporting distribution businesses like ours. We want to continue to support the men and women who run and work within these trades to function as long as possible throughout this crisis.

Our business contributes towards essential maintenance services to end user environments and the store and its employees have an important role to play in ensuring homes, businesses and most importantly essential services continue to function such as heating, power and hot water.

We also have a vital role to play in supporting self-employed businesses and other livelihoods, plus of course the livelihoods of our own colleagues.  However, and to reiterate, we will not continue to operate this at the risk of colleagues or customers, and are exercising every possible precaution to this end.

We also have a fully functioning sales, administration and management team working and split remotely and in Dumaresq Street, exercising social distancing of at least 2 metres.

We apologise for any disruption this may cause but we have a duty of care to the safety, wellbeing and health of our customers & colleagues.
