Dumaresq Street Regeneration

Thank you to everybody who has provided feedback on the public consultation for the regeneration of our site at Dumaresq Street, St Helier.

The proposed development included the following:

  • Removal of the majority of trade operations and activities and trade traffic from the site.
  • Retention and refurbishment of the glazed façade of the existing Grade 4 Listed retail building.
  • Demolition and clearance of all other buildings and surface car parking from within the site.
  • Construction of a new mixed use development comprising approximately 3,000m2 of replacement, modern retail space for Romerils and approximately 94 new homes (59 x 1 bed, 22 x 2 bed and 23 x 3 bed apartments), with a minimum of 15% being made available for affordable purchase.
  • Creation of a new vehicular access at Hue Street (north) linking to a new basement providing car parking for approximately 30 vehicles and storage for approximately 50 bicycles.
  • Additional covered, secure storage for approximately 110 bicycles at ground floor, together with bicycle repair, wash down, changing and drying facilities.
  • Public realm improvements including pavement widening, pedestrian priority areas at Hue Street and Dumaresq Street, soft landscape and tree planting, and a new multipurpose outdoor event space at Hue Street.

We are now continuing the design process with our consultants.
